As the business turns 7 we are celebrating by offering seven charities in York, a FREE social media and marketing training workshop!
This week marks 7 years of Pick & Mix Marketing!! Can you believe it! Where has the time gone!
Seven years ago I set up Pick & Mix from an office at home, with the desire and aim to help support as many local small businesses as possible. That’s exactly what has happened.
I’m super proud of my team members past and present for all their hard work and efforts in helping the business get to where it is today. Running a small business comes with challenges and the journey has had its highs and lows just as any journey does, which means taking time to celebrate these milestones is very important to me. I would like to thank the people who have been there through the journey so far –
Louisa supported me as the business grew from just me to a team of four, she brought fantastic knowledge of the media landscape along with great customer service and really helped to shape things to grow. Louisa had a background in Market Research and I’m delighted that she went on to pursue her skill in this area and now works for a great company in York where she has already had two promotions! – Thank you Louisa
Whilst completing an intern at a client’s Becca worked alongside me one day a week. Becca showed a great passion for marketing and I saw such potential in her that we asked her to come and work for Pick & Mix one day a week whilst she finished her degree. Becca brought some fantastic ideas and really helped us move the business forward in particular with her attention to details and love for Instagram. Becca in return gained some great experience from us which has enabled her to progress her career and move to a very successful agency in Leeds which also meant a move from home and new opportunities for her. – Thank you Becca
Jess, well what can I say… a true star, a professional Marketing specialist who has worked so hard over the last few years not only for our clients and the business but also on her own knowledge too – Completing her CIM qualifications alongside her day to day work. Jess brings laughter to the office and loves a good social event. Jess is so good at her job and has built fantastic relationships with our clients and the feedback we receive is brilliant. Jess really makes Pick & Mix Marketing what it is today and I’m looking forward to the future and working together.
Also we would like to say a huge thank you to our friends Lesley and Trevor Barlow from A Fresh View, Matthew Riley from Fusion Design, Diane Mason from DMM Training & Development, Mike Nowill from Mike Nowill Photography, Mark Bates from Make it York, Olivia Brabbs from Olivia Brabbs Photography, Angela Horner, Nik and Fran Cann from Cann Creative, Phil Pearce from Buzz Web Design, Matthew Riley from Fusion, John and Kelle from York Print…all of who have supported us over the last year and helped us with our projects.
So back to the Birthday!
As a business we love to do our bit for the community and are often finding ways to support local and charities and community groups whenever we can, along with offering our time for student talks and startup businesses. This year as we were pondering which cake to celebrate our 7thyear with, we thought how else can we celebrate and in turn give something back?!
We concluded that rather than taking part in another challenge, or event, why not give something that we do daily back to charities in the local area to help them? We know that charity budgets are limited and what they spend them on is of crucial importance to overall fundraising so we can appreciate that spending money on training team members on how to use Social Media can often be put to the bottom of the pile. That’s where we come in…for our birthday we have offered 7 local charities the chance to come along to a Social Media/Marketing training session for FREE.
We are passionate about the charities we have chosen and wanted to support local causes who have helped us or close friends and family in the past and do such an amazing job every day. The charities include; New Beginnings Horse, Riding for the Disabled, York Mind, York Against Cancer and St. Leonard’s Hospice.
That only leaves me to say THANK YOU and here’s to the next Birthday!
