Spook up your marketing this Halloween…but don’t SCARE your customers away!
Seasonal campaigns are a great way of enticing customers into your business, and Halloween is no exception. This is a great time of year to have some fun with your marketing and promotions. Here are a few of our favourite “spook-tacular” Halloween marketing ideas for businesses…
Both on and offline competitions work well to engage customers. Throwing a costume party or asking customers to upload pictures of themselves in their creepiest costume to your social media where the winner wins one of your products or time from your service. This will give them more of an incentive to pull out all the stops. Dress to impress!
2. Trick or Treat
With every purchase made over Halloween week, offer a Trick or Treat bundle/gift. This can be a mystery gift and could contain either a “Trick” or a “Treat” for the customer. Using themed branded bags or wrapping with additional marketing material for upcoming offers/events within the gift is a great way of enticing them to return after the promotional period.
3. Spook up your look
Why not “spook” up your shop front with pumpkins and cobwebs, if your “shop front” is your website or social media by adding some touches to your Home Page, logo or cover image will provide the same effect and for regular customers this update will encourage them to have a look at your site/page to see what’s going on. For simple updates to images and logos, we use canva or you could ask your website/designer to do this for you.
For additional coverage of any campaign create a dedicated hashtag which your customers can use when sharing images of them at your business or using your product/service. You can then search out these hashtags and re-share the posts to gain a wider reach on these posts.
Taking inspiration from Burger King’s prank, it is clear that by adding some humour to your Halloween campaign, with a touch of spookiness of course, is a great way of getting your customers talking and could even lead to a viral thread online!
